💭 Team Reflection Summary $READS

This reflection documents the evolution of our understanding and the key insights that reshaped the $READS project direction.

What We Initially Believed

We initially thought the main issue was the lack of quality study materials and assumed that simply providing digital lessons and Computer-Based Test (CBT) practice alone would significantly improve student performance.

We also operated under the assumption that most learners had stable internet access and that existing online certificates were generally trusted.

What We Discovered (Key Realizations)

Through deeper reflection and interactions with our community, we realized the real challenges were far more fundamental:

Motivation Gap: Students often lack internal motivation systems for continuous study.

Affordability: Many cannot afford the paid subscriptions of leading study applications.

Accessibility: A significant number of learners rely on USSD or basic phones, not consistent broadband internet.

Credibility: Online certificates are often not verifiable, significantly reducing their professional and academic trust.

Impact on Our Final Project Idea

These realizations fundamentally reshaped $READS into a more inclusive solution:

Former FocusNew $READS Focus
Digital Content OnlyLearn-to-Earn Model to boost motivation and reward effort
Stable Internet RequiredUSSD/Offline Access to ensure inclusivity and reach all learners
Standard Online CertificateBlockchain-Verifiable Certificates to ensure trust and credibility

Core Insight

The final project now centers on providing an experience that is affordable, engaging, rewarding, credible, and truly accessible for all learners, regardless of their infrastructure constraints.

We realized that students don’t just need content—they need:

  • Motivation through tangible rewards
  • Accessibility through USSD and offline support
  • Trust through blockchain-verified certificates
  • Affordability through a free-to-use, earn-while-learning model

$READS is not just another EdTech platform. It is a dignity engine that transforms study effort into economic value.
